(1) are members, or are eligible to become members, of a federally recognized Indian Tribe in the United States; or(A) has Indian status in Canada through registration under the Indian Act (R.S.C., 1985, c. I–5); or(B) holds membership in a self-governing First Nation in Canada.(2)
(b) A person who is admitted to the United States pursuant to subsection (a) shall have the status of a person lawfully admitted for permanent residence.
