7 Statement of purpose of bill as introduced: This bill proposes to require the
8 Joint Fiscal Office to contract for an electronic roll-call system for the
9 Vermont House of Representatives by the start of the 2026 legislative session.
10    An act relating to the implementation of an electronic roll-call system in the
11    Vermont House of Representatives
12 It is hereby enacted by the General Assembly of the State of Vermont:
13 Sec. 1. ELECTRONIC ROLL-CALL SYSTEM; VERMONT HOUSE
14    (a) On or before June 15, 2025, the Joint Fiscal Office (JFO), in
15 consultation with the Office of Legislative Counsel, the Office of Legislative
16 Information Technology, and the Office of the Clerk of the House, shall issue a
17 request for proposal (RFP) to install and implement an electronic roll-call
18 system for the Vermont House of Representatives. The RFP shall require the
19 vendor to install the electronic roll-call system by the start of the 2026
20 legislative session.

1    (b) On or before August 15, 2025, the JFO shall enter into a contract with a
2 vendor based on the bids received from the RFP described in subsection (a) of
3 this section.
4    (c) The JFO shall be appropriated funding from the FY26 Capital
5 Construction Act to enter into the contract described in subsection (b) of this
6 section.
7 Sec. 2. EFFECTIVE DATE
8    This act shall take effect on passage.
