ELIGIBILITY OF A DEPENDENT PARENT FOR SURVIVORS' ANDDEPENDENTS' EDUCATIONAL ASSISTANCE.(a) Eligibility.--Section 3501(a)(1) of title 38, United StatesCode, is amended by adding at the end the following new subparagraph:``(F) The dependent parent of a person described insubparagraph (A).''.(b) Conforming Amendments.--(1) Cessation of eligibility.--Section 3511(b) of title 38,United States Code, is amended, in paragraphs (1), (2), and(4), by striking ``parent or spouse'' each place it appears andinserting ``parent, spouse, or child''.(2) Periods of eligibility.--Section 3512(b)(1)(A) of title38, United States Code, is amended--(A) by striking ``subparagraph (B) or (D) ofsection 3501(a)(1) of this title'' and inserting``subparagraph (B), (D), or (F) of section 3501(a)(1)of this title''; and(B) by striking ``or 3501(a)(1)(E) of this title''and inserting ``3501(a)(1)(E), or 3501(a)(1)(F) of thistitle''.(3) Correspondence courses.--Section 3534(b) of title 38,United States Code, is amended--(A) by striking ``eligible spouse or survivingspouse'' and inserting ``eligible spouse, survivingspouse, or eligible dependent parent'';(B) by striking ``such spouse's entitlement'' andinserting ``such spouse's or dependent parent'sentitlement''; and(C) by striking ``paid to the spouse'' andinserting ``paid to the spouse or dependent parent''.<all>
