SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 8
         WHEREAS, Members of the Texas Society of Certified Public
  Accountants are gathering in Austin on January 28, 2025, for
  TXCPA Advocacy Day at the State Capitol; and
         WHEREAS, Founded in 1915, TXCPA represents and advocates
  for the interests of Texas CPAs and finance professionals who
  work in public practice as well as in business, industry,
  government, and education; with 20 local chapters and some 28,000
  members, it is the largest association of accounting
  professionals in the state; and
         WHEREAS, During the 2025 TXCPA Advocacy Day, more than 250
  CPAs from across Texas will meet with legislators to discuss
  critical business issues and hear legislative updates; the
  delegation will also focus attention on the importance of the
  accounting profession to the state economy and work to advance
  causes that support the future of the industry; and
         WHEREAS, Since its inception, the Texas Society of
  Certified Public Accountants has played a significant role in the
  prosperity of the Lone Star State, and this legislative day
  provides a fitting opportunity to honor the organization and its
  members; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 89th
  Legislature, hereby recognize January 28, 2025, as Texas Society
  of Certified Public Accountants Advocacy Day at the State Capitol
  and extend a warm welcome to the visiting delegation; and, be it
  further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this Resolution be
  prepared for the organization as an expression of high regard
  from the Texas Senate.
