Document has been reformatted to meet World Wide Web specifications.)A concurrent RESOLUTIONTO CELEBRATE THE SOUTH AIKEN HIGH SCHOOL BOYS SWIMTEAM ON WINNING THE 2024 CLASS AAAA STATE CHAMPIONSHIP AND TO CONGRATULATE THESWIMMERS AND THEIR COACHES ON A SUPERLATIVE SEASON.Whereas, as a perfectfinish to an unbeaten regular season, the South Aiken High School boys swimteam shot past all other comers at their state championship meet, held at theUniversity of South Carolina Natatorium on October 17, 2024; andWhereas, the Thoroughbredswere the area's top local team of the fall season, with a group of eleven underHead Coach Susie Adams combining to bring home the hardware; andWhereas, at the titlemeet, South Aiken peppered the scoring sheet, bringing in points in every raceto accumulate 404 in total, with nearest competitor Daniel High Schoolfinishing second at 373.5; andWhereas, while the teamgarnered some big points, it was the strong scoring across all strokes thatpowered the T-Breds to the title. The top twenty competitors in each eventscored points, and South Aiken averaged more than twenty-four points perswimmer. The T-Breds bested their entry times in a remarkable eighteen oftwenty individual events and scored points in all but one of their swims; andWhereas, exuberantSouth Aiken fans felt even greater satisfaction at this championship win whenthey considered that the T-Breds will have the majority of their swimmersreturning next fall to defend their title; andWhereas, appreciativeof the deservedly high reputation of the South Aiken High boys swim team andcoaches, the General Assembly is delighted to add a full meed of praise to thevoices of the many admirers of these fine athletes on the occasion of the acquisitionof their newest state title.
