SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:
5 ILCS 140/2.26 new
    Amends the Freedom of Information Act. Provides that, if a public body uses an electronic system for the submission of requests under the Act, then it shall employ a CAPTCHA test or other similar measures to verify that those electronically submitted requests are being made by a human.

1		    AN ACT concerning government.
2		    Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3		represented in the General Assembly:
4		    Section 5. The Freedom of Information Act is amended by
5		adding Section 2.26 as follows:
6		    (5 ILCS 140/2.26 new)
7		    Sec. 2.26. Requester verification. If a public body uses 
8		an electronic system for the submission of requests under this 
9		Act, then it shall employ a CAPTCHA test or other similar 
10		measures to verify that those electronically submitted 
11		requests are being made by a human.
