Tom WeberSYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:35 ILCS 505/2e newAmends the Motor Fuel Tax Law. Provides that the moneys received by the Department of Revenue under the Act on taxes imposed on the sale of motor fuel sold on the Chain O'Lakes shall be remitted back to the Chain O'Lakes - Fox River Waterway Management Agency or to the Department of Natural Resources and shall be used for waterway purposes. Effective immediately.LRB104 10070 HLH 20141 bA BILL FORHB3007 LRB104 10070 HLH 20141 b1 AN ACT concerning revenue.2 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,3 represented in the General Assembly:4 Section 5. The Motor Fuel Tax Law is amended by adding5 Section 2e as follows:6 (35 ILCS 505/2e new)7 Sec. 2e. Waterway motor fuel tax allowable use.8 (a) As used in this Section, "waterway purposes" means the9 maintenance, repair, construction, and upkeep costs related to10 the Chain O'Lakes.11 (b) Notwithstanding any other provision of law, the moneys12 received by the Department under this Law on taxes imposed on13 the sale of motor fuel sold on the Chain O'Lakes shall be14 remitted back to the Chain O'Lakes - Fox River Waterway15 Management Agency or to the Department of Natural Resources.16 All of the taxes collected on those sales of motor fuel must be17 used for waterway purposes.18 Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon19 becoming law.
Amends the Motor Fuel Tax Law.
