Neyer, Martin, Meerman, Maddock,Kunse, Outman, Andrews, Kuhn, Borton, BeGole, Rheingans, Harris, Prestin,Johnsen, Markkanen, Roth, Schmaltz, Alexander, Greene, Wegela, Beson, St.Germaine, Wortz, Aragona and RigasENROLLED HOUSE BILL No. 4064AN ACT to amend 1978 PA 472,entitled �An act to regulate political activity; to regulate lobbyists,lobbyist agents, and lobbying activities; to require registration of lobbyistsand lobbyist agents; to require the filing of reports; to prescribe the powersand duties of the department of state; to prescribe penalties; and to repealcertain acts and parts of acts,� (MCL 4.411 to 4.431) by adding section 6c.The People of the State ofMichigan enact:Sec.6c. (1) A member of the Michigan senate or house of representatives shall notreceive compensation, other than that provided by law for a member of theMichigan senate or house of representatives, for communicating directly withany of the following for the purpose of influencing legislative oradministrative action:(a) An official in the executive branch.(b) An official in the legislative branch.(c) An official in the executive branch of any othergovernment.(d) An official in the legislative branch of any othergovernment.(2) An individual who violates this section is guilty of amisdemeanor punishable by imprisonment for not more than 90 days or a fine ofnot more than $1,000.00, or both.Enactingsection 1.
