8 Statement of purpose of bill as introduced: This bill proposes to remove the
9 discretion of the court to sentence a defendant, upon a finding that the sentence
10 will serve the interests of justice, to serve less than the two-year minimum
11 prison term for a conviction of selling or dispensing a regulated drug with
12 death resulting.
13    An act relating to removal of court discretion in sentencing a defendant for
14    selling or dispensing a regulated drug with death resulting
15 It is hereby enacted by the General Assembly of the State of Vermont:
