s61/introduced.txtBILL AS INTRODUCED S.612025 Page 1 of 11S.612 Introduced by Senator Brennan3 Referred to Committee on4 Date:5 Subject: Crimes; weapons; automatic opening knives6 Statement of purpose of bill as introduced: This bill proposes to remove7 criminal penalties for the possession, sale, or offering for sale of automatic8 opening knives, such as switchblade knives.9 An act relating to automatic opening knives10 It is hereby enacted by the General Assembly of the State of Vermont:11 Sec. 1. 13 V.S.A. § 4013 is amended to read:12 § 4013. ZIP GUNS; SWITCHBLADE KNIVES13 A person who possesses, sells, or offers for sale a weapon commonly14 known as a “zip” gun, or a weapon commonly known as a switchblade knife,15 the blade of which is three inches or more in length, shall be imprisoned not16 more than 90 days or fined not more than $100.00, or both.17 Sec. 2. EFFECTIVE DATE18 This act shall take effect on passage.VT LEG #378784 v.1
