1.2relating to education; appropriating money for a grant for hospitality education.
1.3BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:
1.4Section 1. HOSPITALITY MINNESOTA EDUCATION FOUNDATION;
1.5APPROPRIATION.
1.6Subdivision 1. Commissioner of education. The sums indicated in this section are
1.7appropriated from the general fund to the commissioner of education in the fiscal years
1.8designated.
1.9Subd. 2. Hospitality Minnesota Education Foundation. (a) For grants to the Hospitality
1.10Minnesota Education Foundation for the ProStart hospitality and tourism management
1.11program, a statewide initiative in high schools to address the critical workforce shortages
1.12in hospitality:
1.13$  250,000  ..... 2026
1.14$  250,000  ..... 2027
1.15(b) Grant money must be used by the recipient to provide students culinary and
1.16management education curriculum, tools, skills, professional development opportunities
1.17within the hospitality industry, and scholarships.
1.18(c) This is a onetime appropriation.
