1.1A bill for an act
1.2relating to capital investment; appropriating money for a water treatment plant in
1.3the city of Hastings.
1.4    BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:
1.5Section 1. CITY OF HASTINGS WATER TREATMENT PLANT;
1.6    APPROPRIATION.
1.7$16,600,000 in fiscal year 2026 is appropriated from the general fund to the Public
1.8    Facilities Authority for a grant to the city of Hastings to predesign, design, construct, and
1.9    equip the Eastern Water Treatment Plant and associated piping to remove perfluoroalkyl
1.10   and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) and nitrates from city drinking water and to
1.11   interconnect the Minnesota Veterans Home. This is a onetime appropriation and is available
1.12   until the project is completed or abandoned, subject to Minnesota Statutes, section 16A.642.
