A house RESOLUTION
TO HONOR JAMES M. HOLLOWAY SR. FOR HIS THIRTY-SIX
YEARS OF DEDICATED PUBLIC SERVICE AS A MEMBER OF THE SALUDA SCHOOL DISTRICT ONE
BOARD OF TRUSTEES AND TO WISH HIM CONTINUED FULFILLMENT AND SUCCESS IN ALL HIS
FUTURE ENDEAVORS.
Whereas, for thirty-six
years, James M. Holloway Sr. has faithfully served the people of Saluda County
as a member of the Saluda School District One Board of Trustees; and
Whereas, his years on
the board have seen him serving as both member and chairman, and during those
years he earned the high distinction of reaching South Carolina School Boards
Association Level 6 Boardmanship; and
Whereas, further, he
served as a voting delegate at the South Carolina School Boards Association
Legislative Assembly, worked with the South Carolina School Boards Association
on community grassroots initiatives, and was instrumental in passing two bond
referendums during his thirty-six years  on the Saluda School District One
Board: He served on the board during the construction of Saluda Middle and
Saluda High schools in 2002, as well as during the construction of Saluda
Elementary School and additions to Saluda Middle, Saluda High, and Hollywood
Elementary in 2024; and
Whereas, this lifelong
resident of Saluda County, born September 20, 1945, graduated from Riverside
High in Saluda in 1962 and served in the United States Army from 1965 to 1967.
In addition to his military and public service, James M. Holloway Sr., as a man
of faith, serves the Lord as a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, where he
is a deacon. Moreover, he is a board member of the Riverside Economic
Development Committee; and
Whereas, Mr. Holloway
has always found the strongest support for his labors in his family: his lovely
wife, Willie P. Holloway, and the couple's six delightful children; and
Whereas, grateful for
the legacy of consistent commitment and excellence James M. Holloway Sr. has
bestowed on the people of Saluda County, the House of Representatives takes
great pleasure in commending him for his faithful service on the Saluda School
District One Board of Trustees. Now, therefore,
Be it resolved by the House
of Representatives:
That the members of the South Carolina House of Representatives, by this resolution, honor
James M. Holloway Sr. for his thirty-six years of dedicated public service as a
member of the Saluda School District One Board of Trustees and wish him
continued fulfillment and success in all his future endeavors.
Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution
be presented to James M. Holloway Sr.
