6 Statement of purpose of bill as introduced: This bill proposes to repeal the
7 Commissioner of Labor’s authority to recommend a subminimum wage for
8 individuals with a disability.
9    An act relating to repealing the Commissioner of Labor’s authority to
10    recommend a subminimum wage for individuals with a disability
11 It is hereby enacted by the General Assembly of the State of Vermont:
12 Sec. 1. 21 V.S.A. § 385 is amended to read:
13 § 385. ADMINISTRATION
14    The Commissioner and the Commissioner’s authorized representatives have
15 full power and authority for all the following:

17(5) To recommend a suitable scale of rates for learners, and apprentices,
18 and persons with disabilities, which may be less than the regular minimum
19 wage rate for experienced workers without disabilities.

2   This act shall take effect on passage.
