9 Statement of purpose of bill as introduced: This bill proposes to repeal Sec. 3
10 of 1959 Acts and Resolves No. 300 (highway taxes of the Village of Old
11 Bennington) to authorize the Village to transfer the duty and authority over
12 Village highways to the Town of Bennington.
13    An act relating to authority over the highways of the Village of Old
14    Bennington
15 It is hereby enacted by the General Assembly of the State of Vermont:
16 Sec. 1. 1959 Acts and Resolves No. 300, Sec. 3 is amended to read:
17    Sec. 3. Road commissioner, no authority or duty. The voters of the Village
18 of Old Bennington shall not vote for road commissioners at a meeting of the
19 Town of Bennington nor shall a Town road commissioner have any duty or

1 authority with respect to any highway, street, lane, or sidewalk within the
2 Village limits. [Repealed.]
3 Sec. 2. EFFECTIVE DATE
4    This act shall take effect on passage.
