    By Representative Turco of Winthrop, a petition (accompanied by bill, House, No. 3419) of
    Jeffrey Rosario Turco, David F. DeCoste and David F. DeCoste for the issuance of an annual
    proclamation by the Governor to designate August 9th as Indigenous Peoples day. State
    Administration and Regulatory Oversight.

    An Act establishing Indigenous Peoples day.
  Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority
    of the same, as follows:
1  Chapter 6 of the General Laws is hereby amended by adding a new section 12VVV as
2   follows:–
3  Section 12VVV. The governor shall annually issue a proclamation setting apart the 9th
4   day in August as Indigenous Peoples Day and recommending that it be observed by the people,
5   with appropriate exercises in the schools and otherwise.
