The Judiciary.The Commonwealth of Massachusetts_______________In the One Hundred and Ninety-Fourth General Court(2025-2026)_______________An Act relative to judicial compensation.Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authorityof the same, as follows:1SECTION 1. Section 22 of chapter 211 is hereby amended by adding at the end thereof2 the following: -3Such compensation shall be increased at the same rate of increase, if any, as the4 percentage change in the Consumer Price Index for Urban Workers for the Northeast Region5 commencing the first day in July of the year 2025, and every year thereafter6SECTION 2. Section 2 of Chapter 211A of the General Laws by adding at the end7 thereof the following: -8Such compensation shall be increased at the same rate of increase, if any, as the9 percentage change in the Consumer Price Index for Urban Workers for the Northeast Region10 commencing the first day in July of the year 2025, and every year thereafter11SECTION 3. Section 4 of Chapter 211B of the General Laws is hereby amended by12 adding at the end thereof the following: -1 of 213Such compensation shall be increased at the same rate of increase, if any, as the14 percentage change in the Consumer Price Index for Urban Workers for the Northeast Region15 commencing the first day in July of the year 2025, and every year thereafter16SECTION 4. Chapter 32 of the General Laws is hereby amended by inserting after17 Section 65J the following section: -18Section 65k. All justices of the supreme judicial court, appeals court and the several19 departments of the trial court, who have reached the mandatory retirement age of 70 under the20 Massachusetts Constitution, Part II, c.3 article 1, as amended by the Article 98 of the21 Amendments, shall be entitled to an adjustment to their annual pension; and said pension shall be22 increased at the same rate of increase, if any, as the percentage change in the Consumer Price23 Index for Urban Workers for the Northeast Region commencing on July 1, 2025, and every year24 thereafter.2 of 2
