Be it enacted by the People of the State of Maine as follows:
Sec. 1. 12 MRSA §12709 is enacted to read:
§12709. Relocation of common loons; prohibition
A common loon, Gavia immer, may not be relocated from a body of water that
measures 500 acres or less as part of a wildlife relocation program.
SUMMARY
This bill prohibits the removal of a common loon from a body of water that measures
500 acres or less as part of a wildlife relocation program.
