Agreements with federal immigration enforcement authorities7 1. Definitions. As used in this section, unless the context otherwise indicates, the8 following terms have the following meanings.9 A. "Law enforcement agency" has the same meaning as in Title 5, section 4751,10 subsection 1.11 B. "Law enforcement officer" has the same meaning as in Title 5, section 4751,12 subsection 2.13 2. Prohibition on agreements with federal immigration enforcement authorities.14 A law enforcement agency or law enforcement officer may not enter into a written or oral15 contract, agreement or arrangement that grants federal immigration enforcement authority16 or powers to the law enforcement agency or law enforcement officer, including an17 agreement pursuant to 8 United States Code, Section 1357(g).18SUMMARY19 This bill prohibits state or local law enforcement agencies or officers from entering20 into contracts with federal immigration enforcement authorities.Page 1 - 132LR2275(01)
