No. 5668AN ACTrelating to the powers and duties of the Far North Fort WorthMunicipal Utility District No. 1 of Tarrant and Wise Counties;providing authority to impose a tax and issue bonds.BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:SECTION 1. Subchapter B, Chapter 8011, Special DistrictLocal Laws Code, is amended by adding Section 8011.055 to read asfollows:Sec. 8011.055. AUTHORITY TO ESTABLISH DEFINED AREAS ORDESIGNATED PROPERTY. Notwithstanding the acreage requirementunder Section 54.801(a), Water Code, the district may define areasor designate certain property of the district and impose taxes andissue bonds in the defined area or designated property as providedby Subchapter J, Chapter 54, Water Code, to pay for improvements,facilities, or services that primarily benefit that area orproperty and do not generally and directly benefit the district as awhole. Notwithstanding any other provision of law, a defined areamay include a noncontiguous tract.SECTION 2. The Far North Fort Worth Municipal UtilityDistrict No. 1 of Tarrant and Wise Counties retains all rights,powers, privileges, authority, duties, and functions that it hadbefore the effective date of this Act.SECTION 3. (a) The legal notice of the intention tointroduce this Act, setting forth the general substance of thisAct, has been published as provided by law, and the notice and acopy of this Act have been furnished to all persons, agencies,officials, or entities to which they are required to be furnishedunder Section 59, Article XVI, Texas Constitution, and Chapter 313,Government Code.(b) The governor, one of the required recipients, hassubmitted the notice and Act to the Texas Commission onEnvironmental Quality.(c) The Texas Commission on Environmental Quality has filedits recommendations relating to this Act with the governor, thelieutenant governor, and the speaker of the house ofrepresentatives within the required time.(d) All requirements of the constitution and laws of thisstate and the rules and procedures of the legislature with respectto the notice, introduction, and passage of this Act are fulfilledand accomplished.SECTION 4. This Act takes effect immediately if it receivesa vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, asprovided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If thisAct does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, thisAct takes effect September 1, 2025.____________________________________________________________President of the SenateSpeaker of the HouseI certify that H.B.
