SENATE BILL NO. 113
AN ACT TO AMEND TITLE 29 OF THE DELAWARE CODE RELATING TO LEGISLATIVE COUNCIL.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF DELAWARE:
Section 1. Amend Subchapter I, Chapter 11, Title 29 of the Delaware Code by making deletions as shown by strike through and insertions as shown by underline as follows:
§ 1106A. Division of Legislative Services.
There is created a Division of Legislative Services to assist the Director of
the Division of Legislative Services in performing the functions assigned under § 1107 of this title and other State law.
Section 2. Amend § 1110, Title 29 of the Delaware Code by making deletions as shown by strike through and insertions as shown by underline as follows:
§ 1110. Controller General; responsibility; duties; compensation.
(a) (1) The Council shall appoint a Controller General who, primarily, shall work with and assist the General Assembly’s Joint Finance Committee and Joint Committee on Capital Improvement.
(3) There is created an Office of the Controller General to assist the Controller General in performing the functions assigned under this section and other State law.
SYNOPSIS
This Act adds the existence of the Division of Legislative Services and the Office of the Controller General into Delaware Code.
Chapter 11 of Title 29 details the creation of Legislative Council, as well as the authority of the Council to appoint a Director of the Division of Legislative Services (Director) and a Controller General. Chapter 11 further states that the Director shall organize and supervise the Division of Legislative Services and that the Controller General may be provided with additional employees to enable the Controller General to perform their duties. However, our Code does not create the Division of Legislative Services or the Office of the Controller General, which are the offices overseen by the Director and Controller General, respectively.
