H.R. No. 124
  R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Words cannot adequately express the sorrow felt at
  the loss of eight-year-old Virginia Larins Hollis of Bellville, who
  was tragically lost in the July 4, 2025, flooding in Kerr County;
  and
         WHEREAS, The cherished daughter of Lars and Lacey Hollis,
  Virginia Hollis was born on March 23, 2017, and she was blessed with
  the companionship and affection of a younger sister, Siena; her
  circle of loved ones also included her grandparents, her
  great-grandmother, and her many aunts, uncles, and cousins, as well
  as her devoted godparents, with whom she celebrated her baptism at
  Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church; and
         WHEREAS, Virginia had recently completed second grade at
  Faith Academy Bellville, where she was beloved by her peers and
  teachers alike and found great joy in her piano lessons, her
  involvement in chess club, and her other artistic endeavors; she
  previously attended the Mother's Day Out program at Bellville
  Methodist Church, and she met her lifelong best friends while
  completing her early education at St. Mary's Episcopal Day School;
  she also spent many happy summers swimming, playing sports, and
  searching for seashells with her friends and counselors at Camp
  Houston Oaks; and
         WHEREAS, A curious and adventurous child of myriad talents,
  Virginia was proud of her many accomplishments, including earning a
  first-place ribbon for her painting at the Houston Livestock Show
  and Rodeo, riding solo in the ACYRA Summer Rodeo Program, and
  composing "Virginia's Song" on her piano; she delighted in
  traveling with her family to destinations across the country and
  throughout Europe; in addition, she treasured the time she spent
  with her grandfather, who cultivated in her a passion for ranching,
  and she dreamed of becoming a mother, teacher, composer, and
  cowgirl when she grew up; and
         WHEREAS, An extraordinary young girl, Virginia Hollis set an
  inspiring example through her passion, determination, and joyful
  spirit, and although tragedy has deprived the world of her promise,
  she will forever hold a special place in the hearts of those she
  leaves behind; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 89th Texas
  Legislature, 2nd Called Session, hereby pay tribute to the memory
  of Virginia Larins Hollis and extend sincere condolences to the
  members of her family: to her parents, Lars and Lacey Hollis; to her
  sister, Siena Hollis; to her grandparents, John and Taunia Elick
  and Brooke and Judith Hollis; to her great-grandmother, Dorothy
  Sasso Moraski; to her aunts and uncles, Elin Hollis, Ashlyn Elick
  and Justin Smith, and Laramy and Craig Bauer; to her cousins, Weston
  and Cate Bauer; to her godparents, Taylor and Tyler Brady,
  Catherine Grell, and John Evans; and to her many other relatives and
  friends; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for her family and that when the Texas House of
  Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Virginia
  Hollis.
