No. 129R E S O L U T I O NWHEREAS, Words cannot adequately express the profound senseof sorrow felt by the family and friends of Abby Lynn Pohl ofAustin, who was tragically lost in the July 4, 2025, flooding inKerr County; andWHEREAS, The daughter of Kristin and Matthew Pohl, Abby Pohlwas born on December 20, 2016; she was baptized at the EpiscopalChurch of the Good Shepherd and drew strength from her faiththroughout her life; the youngest member of her family, she shared adeep bond with her older sisters, Hannah and Reese, and she alsobenefited from the support of her grandparents, aunts, uncles, andcousins; andWHEREAS, Sweet and compassionate and possessing an engagingsense of humor, Abby filled every room with energy and laughter; shemade friends easily and frequently hosted and attended sleepoverget-togethers; passionate about dance, she took part in recitals aswell as informal parties and performances with her sisters andfriends, and her love of music was further demonstrated through hersinging and the many hours she spent listening to Taylor Swift; andWHEREAS, Abby competed in soccer, basketball, tennis, andgolf, and she honed her skills in the latter two sports throughweekend practice sessions with her father; she enjoyed spendingtime outdoors, including during visits to the family ranch andvacations in Crested Butte, Colorado; her other favorite activitiesincluded playing with her dolls, reading, watching scary movies,eating Crumbl cookies, and playing Rummikub; andWHEREAS, Although her time on this earth was far too brief,Abby Pohl was a ray of light in the lives of those who held her dear,and they will never forget the joy, laughter, and love that sheshared with them; now, therefore, be itRESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 89th TexasLegislature, 2nd Called Session, hereby pay tribute to the memoryof Abby Lynn Pohl and extend heartfelt condolences to the members ofher family: to her parents, Kristin and Matthew Pohl; to hersisters, Hannah and Reese Pohl; to her grandparents, Leslie andDavid Pohl and Stephanie and Phil Haag; to her aunts and uncles,Tracy and Todd Engemoen, Julie and Luke Musselman, Luke Pohl, andMemory and Jake Pohl; to her cousins, Lyla and Callie Engemoen,Leslie, Perry, and Mia Musselman, George Pohl, and William andMolly Pohl; and to her other relatives and friends; and, be itfurtherRESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution beprepared for her family and that when the Texas House ofRepresentatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Abby Pohl.Howard______________________________Speaker of the HouseI certify that H.R.
