R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, A life made rich through meaningful service drew to
a close with the passing of Jennifer Lynn Young Cook of Plano on
August 18, 2025, at the age of 38; and
WHEREAS, The daughter of Gary and Lisa Young, the former
Jennifer Young was born in Wylie on September 1, 1986; after she
graduated from high school, she earned her associate's degree in
child development from Collin College; and
WHEREAS, Over the course of a rewarding career in education,
Mrs. Cook worked as a day-care teacher in church programs, and she
served the Weekday Program at First United Methodist Church Plano
for more than a decade; admired for her warmth and patience, she
positively impacted the lives of hundreds of young children and
their families; a woman of deep faith, her work as a caregiver
reflected her Christian values; and
WHEREAS, Above all else, Mrs. Cook was a devoted wife to her
husband, Jason, and a loving mother to her children, Dylan and Lena;
even in the final months of her battle with cancer, she remained
determined to create lasting memories with her family; and
WHEREAS, Those fortunate enough to have known Jennifer Cook
will remember the way she touched their lives with her infectious
laugh, her resilience, and her eternal optimism, and she will
forever hold a treasured place in their hearts; now, therefore, be
it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 89th Texas
Legislature, 2nd Called Session, hereby pay tribute to the life of
Jennifer Lynn Young Cook and extend deepest condolences to the
members of her family: to her husband, Jason Cook; to her son, Dylan
Cook; to her daughter, Lena Cook; to her mother, Lisa Young; to her
nephew, Aiden; to her grandparents, Joann and Jerry Huff; to her
in-laws, Bob and Linda Cook; and to her other relatives and friends;
and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for her family and that when the Texas House of
Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Jennifer
Cook.
