No. 173R E S O L U T I O NWHEREAS, A life made rich through meaningful service drew toa close with the passing of Jennifer Lynn Young Cook of Plano onAugust 18, 2025, at the age of 38; andWHEREAS, The daughter of Gary and Lisa Young, the formerJennifer Young was born in Wylie on September 1, 1986; after shegraduated from high school, she earned her associate's degree inchild development from Collin College; andWHEREAS, Over the course of a rewarding career in education,Mrs. Cook worked as a day-care teacher in church programs, and sheserved the Weekday Program at First United Methodist Church Planofor more than a decade; admired for her warmth and patience, shepositively impacted the lives of hundreds of young children andtheir families; a woman of deep faith, her work as a caregiverreflected her Christian values; andWHEREAS, Above all else, Mrs. Cook was a devoted wife to herhusband, Jason, and a loving mother to her children, Dylan and Lena;even in the final months of her battle with cancer, she remaineddetermined to create lasting memories with her family; andWHEREAS, Those fortunate enough to have known Jennifer Cookwill remember the way she touched their lives with her infectiouslaugh, her resilience, and her eternal optimism, and she willforever hold a treasured place in their hearts; now, therefore, beitRESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 89th TexasLegislature, 2nd Called Session, hereby pay tribute to the life ofJennifer Lynn Young Cook and extend deepest condolences to themembers of her family: to her husband, Jason Cook; to her son, DylanCook; to her daughter, Lena Cook; to her mother, Lisa Young; to hernephew, Aiden; to her grandparents, Joann and Jerry Huff; to herin-laws, Bob and Linda Cook; and to her other relatives and friends;and, be it furtherRESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution beprepared for her family and that when the Texas House ofRepresentatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of JenniferCook.Leach______________________________Speaker of the HouseI certify that H.R.
