SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:
35 ILCS 10/5-37 new
    Amends the Economic Development for a Growing Economy Tax Credit Act. Provides that, in the case of a credit awarded under the Act for the employment of an apprentice, any requirement of the Act or any agreement entered into under the Act concerning the duration of the apprentice's employment may be satisfied by the employment of the apprentice by the apprenticeship firm, the employment of the apprentice by the commercial client served by the apprenticeship firm, or both. Provides that any worksite requirement imposed under the Act or under any agreement entered into under the Act may be satisfied by the employment of the apprentice at the hiring firm's worksite, the employment of the apprentice at the commercial client's worksite, or both.

1		    AN ACT concerning revenue.
2		    Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3		represented in the General Assembly:
4		    Section 5. The Economic Development for a Growing Economy
5		Tax Credit Act is amended by adding Section 5-37 as follows:
6		    (35 ILCS 10/5-37 new)
7		    Sec. 5-37. Apprentices; duration and worksite 
8		requirements. Notwithstanding any other provision of law, in 
9		the case of a credit awarded under this Act for the employment 
10		of an apprentice, any requirement of this Act or any agreement 
11		entered into under this Act concerning the duration of the 
12		apprentice's employment may be satisfied by the employment of 
13		the apprentice by the apprenticeship firm, the employment of 
14		the apprentice by the commercial client served by the 
15		apprenticeship firm, or both. In addition, any worksite 
16		requirement imposed under this Act or under any agreement 
17		entered into under this Act may be satisfied by the employment 
18		of the apprentice at the hiring firm's worksite, by the 
19		employment of the apprentice at the commercial client's 
20		worksite, or both.
