An Act amending the town of Arlington's means tested senior citizen property tax exemption.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority
of the same, as follows:
1 SECTION 1. Section 3 of chapter 285 of the acts of 2020 is hereby amended by striking
2 out the last sentence and inserting in place thereof the following sentence:- The total amount
3 exempted by this act shall be: (i) allocated proportionally within the tax levy on all residential
4 taxpayers while not exceeding 1 per cent of the town’s tax levy; or (ii) funded by an
5 appropriation or transfer from existing funds while not exceeding 1 per cent of the town's tax
6 levy.
7 SECTION 2. This act shall take effect upon its passage.
