  A RESOLUTION
  Honoring James W. Erisman on his One Hundredth
  Birthday.
     WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the 136th General Assembly    1
of Ohio are pleased to extend special recognition to James W. Erisman    2
on the auspicious occasion of his One Hundredth Birthday, November 27,   3
2025; and  4
     WHEREAS, An outstanding Ohioan, James Erisman has spent his years   5
both learning and teaching important lessons, and he has garnered        6
immense respect. A decorated U.S. Army veteran of World War II, he       7
entered active service on June 23, 1944, and he served with the 30th     8
Infantry Division in Europe, incurring a wound in combat on January      9
15, 1945, before being honorably discharged on December 31, 1946.        10
Indeed, he has distinguished himself as a true patriot and comrade,      11
and for his service, he was honored with such awards as the Purple       12
Heart, the Good Conduct Medal, the World War II Victory Medal, the       13
European-African-Middle Eastern Theatre Ribbon with two Bronze Service   14
Stars, the American Theatre Ribbon, and the Combat Infantry Badge; and   15
     WHEREAS, In every aspect of his life, James Erisman has  16
demonstrated compassion, generosity, and a strength of character that    17
have served as the backbone of his proud and meaningful experiences.     18
He has been cherished by a host of dear family and friends for  19
manifesting all the virtues we seek to replicate, and his One  20
Hundredth Birthday affords a unique opportunity to praise this fine      21
man; and  22
     WHEREAS, James Erisman has shown that each person possesses the     23
potential to make a positive impact on our society, and he has been an   24
inspiration to many. His years have been filled with an abundance of     25
blessings, and as he commences another chapter, he has the renewed       26

opportunity to appreciate beauty and kindness, to treasure love,  27
friendship, and creative work, and to anticipate the heartwarming  28
moments that are still to come; therefore be it  29
     RESOLVED, That we, the members of the Senate of the 136th General       30
Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, applaud James W.  31
Erisman on his One Hundredth Birthday and salute him as one of Ohio’s        32
most exemplary citizens; and be it further  33
     RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the Senate transmit a duly  34
authenticated copy of this Resolution to James W. Erisman.  35
