2An act relating to podiatric medicine; amending s.
3461.007, F.S.; revising certain continuing education
4requirements to apply to certain persons; providing an
5effective date.

7    Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:

9Section 1.  Subsection (3) of section 461.007, Florida
10Statutes, is amended to read:
11461.007       Renewal of license.—
12(3)     The board may by rule prescribe continuing education,
13not to exceed 40 hours biennially, as a condition for renewal of
14a license, with a minimum of 2 hours of continuing education
15related to the safe and effective prescribing of controlled
16substances for each person registered with the United States
17Drug Enforcement Administration and authorized to prescribe
18controlled substances pursuant to 21 U.S.C. s. 822. The criteria
19for such programs or courses shall be approved by the board.
20Section 2.  This act shall take effect July 1, 2026.
