                       SENATE BILL No. 52
        A BILL FOR AN ACT concerning family law and juvenile law.
        Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of Indiana:
1      SECTION 1. [EFFECTIVE JULY 1, 2026] (a) The legislative
2   council is urged to assign to an appropriate study committee
3   during the 2026 interim the task of studying the following:
4        (1) Whether grandparent visitation rights should be expanded
5        to include a grandparent who has a demonstrable history of
6        meaningful contact with a child.
7        (2) The petition and civil procedure requirements for
8        expanding grandparent visitation rights.
9      (b) This SECTION expires July 1, 2027.

                       COMMITTEE REPORT
   Mr. President: The Senate Committee on Judiciary, to which was
referred Senate Bill No. 52, has had the same under consideration and
begs leave to report the same back to the Senate with the
recommendation that said bill be AMENDED as follows:
   Delete the title and insert the following:
   A BILL FOR AN ACT concerning family law and juvenile law.
   Delete everything after the enacting clause and insert the following:
                        (SEE TEXT OF BILL)
and when so amended that said bill do pass.
