A BILL to amend the Code of Virginia by adding a section numbered 56-245.1:5, relating to electric utilities; customer bill requirements; rate adjustment clauses.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:
1. That the Code of Virginia is amended by adding a section numbered 56-245.1:5 as follows:
§ 56-245.1:5. Customer bill requirements for certain utilities.
Each Phase I Utility and Phase II Utility, as those terms are defined in subdivision A 1 of § 56-585.1, shall include on each customer bill a separate listing and description of each applicable rate adjustment clause applicable to such bill and authorized pursuant to subdivision A 6 of § 56-585.1 and the corresponding amount due as a result of such rate adjustment clause. Such utility shall maintain on its publicly accessible website additional information relating to rate adjustment clauses, including a list of all approved rate adjustment clauses, the purpose of each rate adjustment clause, and specifications of whether each rate adjustment clause is applicable to residential customers and whether each rate adjustment clause includes an authorized rate of return. Any rate adjustment clauses that have been combined pursuant to the State Corporation Commission's approval shall be listed in combined form.

Electric utilities; customer bill requirements; rate adjustment clauses. Requires Appalachian Power and Dominion Energy Virginia to provide a list on each residential customer bill of each rate adjustment clause applicable to such bill and the corresponding amount due as a result of such rate adjustment clause. The bill requires each utility to maintain on its publicly accessible website certain additional information relating to rate adjustment clauses.
