  SENATE RESOLUTION
 EXPRESSING DEEPEST CONDOLENCES ON THE DEATH OF RENEE NICOLE GOOD IN
  MINNEAPOLIS, MINNESOTA AND URGING THE FBI TO ENSURE A FULL
  INVESTIGATION

1WHEREAS, It is with profound sadness and overwhelming grief that this Senate has
2 learned of the tragic passing of Ms. Renee Nicole Good, a 37 year-old devoted mother of three
3 children and the beloved spouse of Rebecca Good; and
4WHEREAS, Renee Nicole Good was a talented young woman, a prize-winning poet, and
5 writer who enriched her community with the creativity of her work and her abiding compassion
6 for others. Those who knew her best described her as being “one of the kindest people they’ve
7 ever known” and describe her as being “an amazing human being”; and
8WHEREAS, The passing of Renee Nicole Good has deeply affected her family and loved
9 ones, her many friends and colleagues, and all who knew her and mourn her loss; and
10WHEREAS, In light of the tragic and untimely circumstances surrounding the death of
11 Ms. Renee Nicole Good, and in the interest of transparency, public confidence, and justice for her
12 family and loved ones, it is appropriate that the matter be thoroughly and independently reviewed
13 by the appropriate authorities, including the Federal Bureau of Investigation, to ensure that all
14 facts are fully examined; now, therefore be it
15RESOLVED, That this Senate of the State of Rhode Island hereby recognizes that the
16 loss of life under tragic circumstances is a solemn reminder of the humanity that binds all of us
17 together and of the value and importance of every life; and be it further
18RESOLVED, That this Senate hereby extends its deepest condolences to Ms. Good’s
19 family, and loved ones on the passing of Renee Nicole Good and expresses deepest sympathies to
1 all who mourn her loss; and be it further
2RESOLVED, That the Secretary of State be and hereby is authorized and directed to
3 transmit a duly certified copy of this resolution to the Family of Renee Nicole Good.
