ASHBY -- read twice and ordered printed, and whenprinted to be committed to the Committee on TransportationAN ACT to amend the highway law, in relation to dedicating a portion ofthe state highway system to Fire Chief Robert BorntTHE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM-BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:Section 1. The highway law is amended by adding a new section 345-e toread as follows:§ 345-E. PORTION OF THE STATE HIGHWAY SYSTEM TO BE DEDICATED TO FIRECHIEF ROBERT BORNT. THE BRIDGE LOCATED ON STATE ROUTE TWO, DESIGNATED ASBRIDGE NUMBER 1000250, WHICH CROSSES OVER STATE ROUTE TWENTY-TWO IN THETOWN OF PETERSBURG, COUNTY OF RENSSELAER, SHALL BE DEDICATED TO FIRECHIEF ROBERT BORNT.§ 2. The commissioner of transportation shall provide for the instal-lation and maintenance of adequate signing of the state highway systemas dedicated pursuant to section one of this act, provided that suchsigning shall state "Bridge Dedicated to Fire Chief Robert Bornt".However, to avoid confusion and to limit any possible disruption ofcommerce, the dedication called for pursuant to section one of this actshall be one of ceremonial nature and the official name of such bridgeshall not be changed as a result of this act.§ 3. This act shall take effect immediately.EXPLANATION--Matter in ITALICS (underscored) is new; matter in brackets[ ] is old law to be omitted.LBD13334-08-6
