h4918/introduced.txtSouth Carolina General Assembly126th Session, 2025-2026Bill 4918Indicates Matter StrickenIndicates New Matter(Text matches printed bills. Document has been reformatted to meet World Wide Web specifications.)A concurrent RESOLUTIONTO APPLAUD THEPOWDERSVILLE HIGH SCHOOL GIRLS VOLLEYBALL TEAM ON CAPTURING THE 2025 CLASS AAASTATE CHAMPIONSHIP TITLE AND TO CONGRATULATE THESE ATHLETES AND THEIR COACH ONAN OUTSTANDING SEASON.Whereas, on Saturday,November 8, 2025, the Lady Patriots of Powdersville High School triumphed overOceanside Collegiate Academy to win the 2025 Class AAA volleyball championship, held at Dreher High School in Columbia; andWhereas, determined totake home the hardware, the Lady Patriots (22-8) accordingly would not quituntil they had seized Powdersville High's fifth state title in girlsvolleyball; andWhereas, when the scorewas 14-10 in the fifth set, Powdersville volleyball needed one chance, onepoint, or one careless mistake from the hands of Oceanside Collegiate Academy.Senior outside hitter Peyton Carman went after a kill that would make thedifference for her team - and got it. She struck the ball into the deep corner, and that was all the Lady Patriots needed to defeat the Lady Landsharks in fivesets, making Powdersville back-to-back state champions; andWhereas, Coach BrookePassini, rightly proud of her team, tested her players this season, took themto the title match ready to play, and found that the discipline she hadinstilled into her team paid off on the court. Coach Passini's philosophy issimple: "Even if we're battling from behind, we never give up," she declares."That's something we always work on in practice"; andWhereas, appreciativeof the well-deserved recognition these athletes have won for their school andcommunity, the General Assembly congratulates the Lady Patriots, and themembers look with interest toward hearing of their further successes, both onand off the volleyball court. Now, therefore,Be it resolved by the Houseof Representatives, the Senate concurring:That the members of theSouth Carolina General Assembly, by this resolution, applaud the PowdersvilleHigh School girls volleyball team on capturing the 2025 Class AAA StateChampionship title and congratulate these athletes and their coach on anoutstanding season.Be it further resolved thata copy of this resolution be presented to Dr. Seth Young, superintendent ofAnderson School District One, as well as to Dr. Adam Lanford, principal, andCoach Brooke Passini of Powdersville High School.----XX---This web page was last updated on January 14, 2026 at 04:25 PM
