Lewis Voting Rights Advancement8 Act, designated as House Resolution Fourteen, was9 reintroduced in the 119th United States Congress by U.S.10 Representative Terri Sewell on March 5, 2025, on the 60th11 Anniversary of Bloody Sunday; and12WHEREAS, the John R. Lewis Voting Rights Advancement13 Act was reintroduced in the 119th United States Congress as14 Senate Bill Four by U.S. Senators Dick Durbin and Raphael15 Warnock on July 29, 2025; and16WHEREAS, the Freedom to Vote Act, designated as House17 Resolution Eleven, of which former Congressman John R. Lewis18 authored the first 300 pages, was previously introduced in19 the 117th United States Congress by U.S. Representative John20 P. Sarbanes on July 18, 2023, and was also introduced as21 Senate Bill One by U.S. Senator Amy Klobuchar on July 25,22 2023; now therefore,23BE IT RESOLVED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF ALABAMA, BOTH24 HOUSES THEREOF CONCURRING, That we, the members of the25 Alabama Legislature,26(1) Support the enactment and execution of the27 congressional legislation, the John R.
