Document has been reformatted to meet World Wide Web specifications.)A concurrent RESOLUTIONTO RECOGNIZE AND EXPRESS DEEP APPRECIATION FOR THESOUTH CAROLINA TECHNICAL COLLEGE SYSTEM AND ITS JOBS FOR AMERICA'S GRADUATESPROGRAM ON "JAG-SC DAY" ON FEBRUARY 4, 2026, FOR THEIR SIGNIFICANTCONTRIBUTIONS IN EMPOWERING STUDENTS, EXPANDING OPPORTUNITY, AND STRENGTHENINGSOUTH CAROLINA'S FUTURE WORKFORCE.Whereas, SouthCarolina's future prosperity depends on the academic success, career readiness,and leadership development of its young people, and the State is committed tosupporting opportunities that help students overcome barriers and reach theirfull potential; andWhereas, JAG-SC, anaffiliate of the national Jobs for America's Graduates initiative and a vitalprogram of the South Carolina Technical College System, equips students withthe skills, support, and confidence needed to thrive in school, in theworkforce, and in life; andWhereas, during the2024-2025 school year, JAG-SC served 1,362 high school students acrossthirty-four high schools in seventeen counties throughout South Carolina; andWhereas, JAG-SCstudents continue to achieve exceptional academic results, including a onehundred percent graduation rate for the Class of 2024, demonstrating theprogram's effectiveness in helping students overcome obstacles, stay engaged,and complete high school; andWhereas, JAG-SCgraduates continue to excel beyond high school, with eighty-nine percentachieving positive outcomes through full-time employment, postsecondaryeducation, or both; andWhereas, JAG-SCrecognizes the potential in every young person and provides mentorship,real-world skills, and individualized support that empower students to riseabove challenges, discover their purpose, and step confidently into theirfutures as leaders in their communities and this State; andWhereas, in recognitionand appreciation for the South Carolina Technical College System and its JAG-SCprogram, Governor Henry McMaster has proclaimed February 4, 2026, as "JAG-SCDay"; andWhereas, the GeneralAssembly joins with Governor McMaster in expressing deep appreciation to theJAG-SC program for its enduring commitment to student success, its leadershipin expanding opportunity, and its vital role in preparing the next generation ofSouth Carolinians for meaningful careers and productive lives; andWhereas, the GeneralAssembly further encourages all South Carolinians to recognize the JAG-SCprogram for its lasting impact on student success, its commitment to increasingopportunity, and its contributions to building South Carolina's futureworkforce.
