Provides that, upon request by a patient, a hospital must transfer the patient to the requested health care facility, regardless of whether the facility is part of the hospital's health care network. Effective immediately.LRB104 16811 BAB 30220 bA BILL FORHB4460 LRB104 16811 BAB 30220 b1 AN ACT concerning regulation.2 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,3 represented in the General Assembly:4 Section 5. The Hospital Licensing Act is amended by adding5 Section 6.14i as follows:6 (210 ILCS 85/6.14i new)7 Sec. 6.14i. Out-of-network patient transfers. Upon request8 by a patient, a hospital must transfer the patient to the9 requested health care facility, regardless of whether the10 facility is part of the hospital's health care network.11 Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon12 becoming law.
Amends the Hospital Licensing Act. Provides that, upon request by a patient, a hospital must transfer the patient to the requested health care facility, regardless of whether the facility is part of the hospital's health care network. Effective immediately.
