12 DEPARTMENT TO CONTRACT FOR THE PROVISION OF FROZEN FOOD,
13 INCLUDING MEDICALLY TAILORED FOOD, IN COMMUNITIES WITH HIGH
14 FOOD INSECURITY, LIMITED ACCESS TO HEALTHY FOOD AND A
15 SUBPOPULATION OF PERSONS WITH MEDICAL CONDITIONS REQUIRING
16 SPECIAL MEALS.

18 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:
19 SECTION 1. APPROPRIATION.--Two hundred thousand dollars
20 ($200,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the aging
21 and long-term services department for expenditure in fiscal
22 year 2027 to contract for the provision of frozen food,
23 including medically tailored food, in communities with high
24 food insecurity, limited access to healthy food and a
25 subpopulation of persons with medical conditions requiring

1 special meals. Any unexpended balance remaining at the end of
2 fiscal year 2027 shall revert to the general fund.
