A senate RESOLUTION
TO RECOGNIZE AND COMMEND
THE HONORABLE DR. CINDY TRIMM, BUSINESS AND LIFE STRATEGIST AND FORMER SENATOR,
AND TO WELCOME HER TO THE PALMETTO STATE.
Whereas, the South
Carolina Senate is pleased to learn that former senator Dr. Cindy Trimm will
visit South Carolina on February 6, 2026; and
Whereas, trained in
strategic leadership at the prestigious Oxford University Saïd Business School
and Corporate Governance at Harvard University, Dr. Cindy Trimm consults
executives, media titans, and heads of state. Prior to her policy-making
career, she served as advisor to government on issues such as social
reconstruction, social progress, community development, drug interdiction, drug
intervention, and educational reform. Her focus has become building communities
that drive and nations that prosper; and
Whereas, the visionary
founder and CEO of Trimm International, she leads compassionate innovators in
cultural transformation through community development, the empowerment of women
and girls, medical outreach, and education with executive coaching, consulting,
and advising. Her work has garnered recognition from former United States
President Barack Obama, who presented her with a Lifetime Achievement Award,
and distinctions from the Queen of England, the Duke of Edinburgh, and the
governor of Bermuda. She is counted among Ebony magazine's "Top 100
Doers and Influencers in the World" and was named Ambassador of Goodwill for
the State of Tennessee; and
Whereas, in her role as
founder of the Trimm Institute for Global Leadership, Dr. Trimm provides education
and empowerment initiatives creating solutions to live in peace, prosperity,
and optimum health. The Trimm Foundation is at the forefront of pioneering new
models toward the advancement of the United Nations Sustainability Goals; and
Whereas, she is dedicated
to maximizing potential through global leadership development, civic
engagement, cross cultural dialogue, and collaborative partnerships for
individuals, companies, communities, and nations through a proven capacity-building
process; and
Whereas, Dr. Trimm is
the bestselling author of over forty titles, including Establishing Your
Personal Brand, Transforming Your World Through Servant Leadership,
and Communicating for Maximum Results. As an executive producer of the
blockbuster movie Canal Street, as well as an established television and
radio host, Dr. Trimm has distinguished herself as a recognized voice in
leadership development and cultural advocacy; and
Whereas, a speaker much
in demand, she delivers topics ranging from personal branding and women in
business to legislative leadership and capacity building in the workforce. She
hosts strategic interdisciplinary forums, groundbreaking annual events, and
multimedia projects designed to provoke practical solutions to society's most
pressing problems; and
Whereas, on her visit to
Columbia on February 6, 2026, Dr. Trimm will provide transformational
leadership, empowerment, and relationship-centered insight to individuals,
couples, and families through a citywide Valentine's Dinner and Date Night
experience. Her keynote address will focus on strengthening marriages and
relationships, promoting emotional wellness, and inspiring personal and
community growth; and
Whereas, the members of
the South Carolina Senate look forward to Dr. Trimm's presence to uplift the
community by reinforcing the importance of healthy relationships, family
stability, and holistic well-being, while highlighting the city's commitment to
fostering unity, empowerment, and excellence among its residents. Now, therefore,
Be it resolved by the Senate:
That the members of the
South Carolina Senate, by this resolution,
recognize and commend the Honorable Cindy Trimm, business and life strategist
and former senator, and welcome her to the Palmetto State.
Be it further resolved
that a copy of this resolution be presented to the Honorable Dr. Cindy Trimm.
