Referred to Committee on Health & Long-Term Care.1 AN ACT Relating to creating a nondisciplinary pathway for2 relinquishing licenses issued by the Washington medical commission;3 and adding a new section to chapter 18.71 RCW.4 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF WASHINGTON:5 NEW SECTION. Sec. 1. A new section is added to chapter 18.716 RCW to read as follows:7 The commission is authorized to conduct rule making for all8 licenses issued within its authority under this chapter and chapters9 18.71A, 18.71B, 18.71C, and 18.71D RCW to allow for the10 relinquishment of the license. Relinquishment under these rules must11 be voluntary. The license cannot be relinquished in lieu of12 discipline or if the licensee is subject to discipline or under13 investigation by the commission. The relinquishment is not an adverse14 action and as such is not reportable to any disciplinary databases,15 the national practitioner data bank, or other websites. Licensees who16 request this process agree to the permanent relinquishment of the17 property right and shall have no right to reinstatement or renewal.--- END ---p. 1 SB 6258
