                                                   AN ACT
 To amend chapter 172, RSMo, by adding thereto one new section relating to rare pediatric disease
           research.
 Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of Missouri, as follows:
1Section A. Chapter 172, RSMo, is amended by adding thereto
2  one new section, to be known as section 172.921, to read as
3  follows:
1172.921.  1. As used in this section, the following
2  terms mean:
3(1)      "MURR", the University of Missouri research
4  reactor;
5(2)      "Radiotheranostics", a treatment approach using
6  radioisotopes for both diagnosis and therapy;
7(3)      "Rare pediatric disease", a life-threatening or
8  chronically debilitating disease that affects fewer than two
9  hundred thousand individuals under eighteen years of age in
10  the United States;
11(4)      "University", the University of Missouri system
12  and its constituent campuses.
132.     The university shall establish a governance board
14  composed of:
15(1)      Representatives from the school of medicine, MURR,
16  Ellis Fischel Cancer Center, and NextGen Precision Health;

17(2)    One appointee from each chamber of the general
18 assembly, appointed by the speaker of the Missouri house of
19 representatives and the president pro tempore of the
20 Missouri senate;
21(3)    One patient or family advocate representative; and
22(4)    One member representing a collaborating nonprofit
23 or industry partner.
243.    The governance board shall submit an annual public
25 report to the general assembly no later than December thirty-
26 first of each year detailing:
27(1)    Research projects related to radiotheranostics in
28 the treatment of rare pediatric disease initiated and
29 completed;
30(2)    Key outcomes achieved;
31(3)    Funds expended and leveraged; and
32(4)    Any legislative recommendations.
334.    This section shall expire on June 30, 2030.
