Section 105.510, RSMo, is repealed and one new2 section enacted in lieu thereof, to be known as section 105.510,3 to read as follows:1105.510. 1. Public employees, except police, deputy2 sheriffs, Missouri state highway patrolmen, [Missouri] and3 employees of the department of the National Guard[, all4 teachers of all Missouri schools, colleges and universities,5 of any public body] shall have the right to form [and],6 join, or terminate membership in a labor [organizations]7 organization at any time, and [to] may present proposals to8 any public body relative to salaries and other conditions of9 employment through the representative of their own10 choosing. No such employee shall be discharged or11 discriminated against because of his exercise of such right,12 nor shall any person or group of persons, directly or13 indirectly, by intimidation or coercion, compel or attempt14 to compel any such employee to join or refrain from joining15 a labor organization, except that the above excepted16 employees have the right to form benevolent, social, or17 fraternal associations. Membership in such associations mayEXPLANATION-Matter enclosed in bold-faced brackets [thus] in this bill is not enactedand is intended to be omitted in the law.SB 1585 218 not be restricted on the basis of race, creed, color,19 religion or ancestry.202. A labor organization or public body may not place a21 restriction on the time that a public employee of a school22 district may join or terminate membership in a labor23 organization.✓
