sb367/introduced.txtSession of 2026SENATE BILL No. 367By Committee on Transportation1-221 AN ACT concerning motor vehicles; providing cities the authority to allow2 the driving of golf carts upon sidewalks; amending K.S.A. 8-1575 and3 repealing the existing section.45 Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Kansas:6 Section 1. K.S.A. 8-1575 is hereby amended to read as follows: 8-7 1575. (a) Except as otherwise provided in subsection (b), no person shall8 drive any vehicle upon a sidewalk or sidewalk area except upon a9 permanent or duly authorized temporary driveway.10 (b) The governing body of any city is hereby authorized, by ordinance11 duly passed, to allow for the driving of a golf cart upon a sidewalk, as12 defined in K.S.A. 8-1495, and amendments thereto, if the driver of the golf13 cart is a person 16 years of age or older and holds a valid class C driver's14 license.15 Sec. 2. K.S.A. 8-1575 is hereby repealed.16 Sec. 3. This act shall take effect and be in force from and after its17 publication in the statute book.
