sb2651/introduced.txtMISSISSIPPI LEGISLATURE2026 Regular SessionTo: Highways and TransportationBy: Senator(s) YoungerSenate Bill 2651AN ACT TO CREATE NEW SECTION 25-61-11.3, MISSISSIPPI CODE OF1972, TO EXEMPT FROM THE MISSISSIPPI PUBLIC RECORDS ACT OF 1983 CERTAININFORMATION COMPILED OR COLLECTED FOR THE PURPOSE OF IDENTIFYING, EVALUATING ORPLANNING THE SAFETY ENHANCEMENT OF POTENTIAL ACCIDENT SITES, HAZARDOUS ROADWAYCONDITIONS OR RAILWAY HIGHWAY CROSSINGS, PURSUANT TO FEDERAL LAW OR FOR THEPURPOSE OF DEVELOPING ANY HIGHWAY SAFETY CONSTRUCTION IMPROVEMENT PROJECT WHICHMAY BE IMPLEMENTED UTILIZING FEDERAL-AID HIGHWAY FUNDS; AND FOR RELATEDPURPOSES.���� BE IT ENACTED BY THELEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:���� SECTION 1.� Thefollowing shall be codified as Section 25-61-11.3, Mississippi Code of 1972:���� 25-61-11.3� Reports,surveys, schedules, lists or data compiled or collected for the purpose ofidentifying, evaluating or planning the safety enhancement of potentialaccident sites, hazardous roadway conditions or railway-highway crossings,pursuant to federal law or for the purpose of developing any highway safetyconstruction improvement project which may be implemented utilizing Federal-aidHighway Funds shall be exempt from the Mississippi Public Records Act of 1983.���� SECTION 2.� This actshall take effect and be in force from and after its passage.
