11 MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO THE DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH FOR
12 MOSQUITO SURVEILLANCE, PREVENTION AND MITIGATION.

14 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:
15 SECTION 1. APPROPRIATION.--Two million dollars
16 ($2,000,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the

17 department of health for expenditure in fiscal years 2027 and
underscored material = new
18 2028 for mosquito surveillance, prevention and mitigation. The
19 department of health may use up to one million five hundred
20 thousand dollars ($1,500,000) to provide grants to local
21 governments and state educational institutions enumerated in
22 Article 12, Section 11 of the constitution of New Mexico for
23 mosquito surveillance, prevention and mitigation projects. Any
24 unexpended balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2028
25 shall revert to the general fund.
