11 RELATING TO HUMAN RIGHTS; PROHIBITING ANTISEMITIC
12 DISCRIMINATION.

14 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:
15 SECTION 1. A new section of the Human Rights Act is
16 enacted to read:

17 "[NEW MATERIAL] ANTISEMITIC DISCRIMINATION PROHIBITION.--

18 A. As used in this section, "antisemitic" means a
19 certain perception of Jewish people, which may be expressed as
20 hatred toward Jewish people, including rhetorical and physical
21 manifestations that are directed toward Jewish people, or non-
22 Jewish people who are perceived to be Jewish, and their
23 property, or toward Jewish community institutions or religious
24 facilities.
25 B. A person, employer, labor organization,

1 employment agency, public accommodation, public body or any
2 officer, employee or contractor of a public body shall not
3 engage in antisemitic discrimination and shall comply with the
4 prohibitions on discrimination provided in the Human Rights
5 Act. A person claiming to be aggrieved by an unlawful
6 discriminatory practice based on antisemitic discrimination may
7 file a claim in accordance with the Human Rights Act."
