6 Subject: Highways; electric vehicle supply equipment; standards of service
7 Statement of purpose of bill as introduced: This bill proposes to require that
8 all publicly available electric vehicle supply equipment (EVSE) shall (1)
9 accept multiple forms of payment, including credit cards; (2) display
10 prominently an explanation of all fees and charges that may be incurred for use
11 of the EVSE, including charges for parking or remaining at the EVSE after the
12 vehicle has completed charging; (3) make its real-time status available to the
13 public, including whether the EVSE is available, in use, or out of service; and
14 (4) comply with any other requirements that the Secretary of Transportation
15 determines, by rule, are necessary to provide reliable service to drivers of
16 battery electric vehicles.
