    RELATING TO TOWNS AND CITIES - BURRILLVILLE AND GLOCESTER PUBLIC

 It is enacted by the General Assembly as follows:
1SECTION 1. Title 45 of the General Laws entitled "TOWNS AND CITIES" is hereby
2 amended by adding thereto the following chapter:

4BURRILLVILLE AND GLOCESTER PUBLIC NOTICE ACT
545-71-1. Burrillville and Glocester public notice requirements.
6Notwithstanding any public or general law to the contrary, effective January 1, 2027,
7 whenever it is required under this title or any other provision of the general laws that any notice or
8 publication be published by the town of Burrillville or the town of Glocester, in a public newspaper,
9 the notice may be published in any newspaper in general circulation within either of the
10 municipalities or other designated digital or print platform selected by the town council of either
11 municipality, which may be reasonably demonstrated to reach a larger portion of the population
12 within each such municipality, than a newspaper in general circulation.
13SECTION 2. This act shall take effect upon passage.

  BY THE LEGISLATIVE COUNCIL

   RELATING TO TOWNS AND CITIES - BURRILLVILLE AND GLOCESTER PUBLIC
  NOTICE ACT

1This act would allow the towns of Burrillville and Glocester to publish notices in any
2 newspaper in general circulation within either of the municipalities. This act would also allow
3 publication in other designated digital or print platforms selected by their town councils.
4This act would take effect upon passage.
