A house RESOLUTION
TO CONGRATULATE THE MEMBERS OF THE
CHESTERFIELD DIXIE YOUTH 8U SOFTBALL TEAM FOR THEIR OUTSTANDING ACHIEVEMENTS AS
2025 STATE CHAMPIONS, TO SALUTE THEM FOR REPRESENTING WELL THE STATE OF SOUTH
CAROLINA AT THE 2025 SOFTBALL WORLD SERIES IN LOUISIANA, AND TO COMMEND THESE
FINE YOUNG ATHLETES FOR THEIR HARD WORK, DEDICATION, SPORTSMANSHIP, AND
EXCEPTIONAL TALENT.
Whereas, the members of the Chesterfield Dixie Youth 8U softball team
demonstrated extraordinary dedication, perseverance, and teamwork throughout
the 2025 softball season, culminating in their achievement as 2025 state
champions; and
Whereas, through countless hours of practice, disciplined training,
and unwavering commitment, these young athletes consistently displayed a strong
work ethic and a determination to excel, both individually and collectively;
and
Whereas, the Chesterfield Dixie Youth 8U softball team's championship
performance earned them the honor of representing the State of South Carolina
at the 2025 Softball World Series in Louisiana, where they competed against
elite teams from across the nation; and
Whereas, at both the state and national levels, the team showcased
not only exceptional athletic skill and competitive spirit but also outstanding
sportsmanship, respect for opponents, and pride in their community; and
Whereas, the 2025 Chesterfield Dixie Youth 8U softball team roster
included the following players: Emerson Owens (#00), McKinley Pearson (#1),
Freya Jacobs (#2), Ryleigh Chavis (#3), Kasey Brock (#5), Brystol Smith (#7),
Jayda Rivers (#8), Everly Adams (#10), Adeline Morton (#11), Abrieana Davila
(#13), Georgia Burr (#16), and Paityn Griggs (#55); and
Whereas, the team was led by a dedicated coaching staff consisting of
Barron Pearson, Bruce Chavis, Taylor Griggs, and Stephanie Griggs, whose
leadership, instruction, and commitment were instrumental in the team's
success; and
Whereas, the success of the Chesterfield Dixie Youth 8U softball team
reflects positively upon Chesterfield County and the State of South Carolina,
serving as an inspiration to other young athletes and demonstrating the values
of teamwork, discipline, and perseverance; and
Whereas, the accomplishments of these young athletes would not have
been possible without the dedicated support of their coaches, families, and
others, whose encouragement and guidance played a vital role in the team's
success. Now, therefore,
Be it resolved by the House of
Representatives:
That the members of the South Carolina House
of Representatives, by this resolution, congratulate the members of the
Chesterfield Dixie Youth 8U softball team for their outstanding achievements as
2025 state champions, salute them for representing well the State of South
Carolina at the 2025 Softball World Series in Louisiana, and commend these fine
young athletes for their hard work, dedication, sportsmanship, and exceptional
talent.
Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be presented to
the members and coaching staff of the Chesterfield Dixie Youth 8U softball team.
