Byrnes high SCHOOLGIRLS Softball TEAM, COACHES, AND SCHOOL OFFICIALS ON AN OUTSTANDING SEASON ANDTO HONOR THEM FOR WINNING THE SOUTH CAROLINA CLASS AAAAA Division I GIRLSSoftball STATE CHAMPIONSHIP.Whereas, the SouthCarolina Senate is proud to recognize the James F. Byrnes High School girls softballteam for winning the South Carolina Class 5A Division I girls softball statechampionship on May 31, 2025; andWhereas, this historicwin marks the program's sixth state championship in school history andthirteenth appearance in the state championship series; andWhereas, in thechampionship game, the Rebels defeated Summerville High School Green Wave by ascore of 5-4, ending the defending state champion's eighty-three game winningstreak; andWhereas, the Rebelsproduced one of the most memorable comebacks in program history, rallying for a9-8 victory in game two at home after falling 3-0 in the first game of theseries. Kaylee Hannon and Maddie Wiant delivered pivotal three-run home runs, AddyWaters added another solo home run, and Garrison Aiken forced in the decisiverun with a bases-loaded walk in the bottom of the seventh; andWhereas, in a dramaticnine-inning final game, Byrnes trailed 2-0 through the seventh, before HavenHolmes and Memorie Melton drove in a run each to tie the game. Byrnes latersecured the title in the ninth, with a 5-4 walk-off win. Ellanie Yarrell lifteda crucial sacrifice fly. Addy Waters put the championship ball in play,allowing the tying and winning runs to score; andWhereas, with anexceptional season overall, the team finished with a 30-4 overall record, a12-0 record in region play, and was ranked twenty-second in the nation; andWhereas, the James F.Byrnes High School girls softball team has flourished under the leadership andguidance of Coach Brandi Aiken; andWhereas, the members ofthe South Carolina Senate appreciate the pride and recognition that the JamesF. Byrnes High School girls softball team has brought to its school andcommunity and look forward to a future filled with further accomplishments bythe team and its talented athletes. Now, therefore,Be it resolved by the Senate:That the members of theSouth Carolina Senate, by this resolution,congratulate the James F.
