Whereas, seldom does a softball team, even one seeded first in playoff competition,
tally the stratospheric number of runs that the Golden Horde amassed in Castleton during
the 2025 Division IV championship game against the third-seeded Leland & Gray
Rebels, and
Whereas, the Golden Horde’s early 2–0 lead was temporarily sidelined when the
Rebels scored four runs in the fourth inning, but the West Rutlanders proved resilient as
they crossed home plate an impressive seven times in the fifth inning and an even more
remarkable nine times in the sixth to conclude the game with an unusually powerful 19–4
victory, and
Whereas, the 2025 softball title marked West Rutland High School’s class of 2025’s
sixth athletic crown, truly an enviable achievement, and
Whereas, the fantastic Golden Horde Division IV championship softball players were
Isabella Coombs, Peyton Guay, Kennah Wright-Chapman, Aubrey Beaulieu, Camryn
Williams, Sohyr Perry, Izzy Griffith, Hayley Raiche, Emily Hopp, Karen Firpo, Bradee
Traverse, Olivia Pratt, Sadie McGee, Brianna Gallipo, Rylee Hawkins, Sofia Coombs,
Emma Lee, and Emma Haley, and
Whereas, Head Coach Laurie Serrani, assistant coaches Carl Serrani and Mikayla
Taylor, student manager Gabby Davis, and athletic trainer Zach Royer were all thrilled
with West Rutland’s perseverance and amazing success, now therefore be it
Resolved by the Senate and House of Representatives:
That the General Assembly congratulates the 2025 West Rutland High School Golden
Horde’s Division IV championship softball team, and be it further
Resolved: That the Secretary of State be directed to send a copy of this resolution to
West Rutland High School.
